This is a seldom imaged area in Orion. Some sources referrer VdB 38 as Sh-2 263, but in reality VdB 38 is the blue reflection nebula and SH-263 is a red emission nebula. This object (or object) are also designated as DG 53, Magakian 97 and Cederblad 44.
