NGC 2282 (VdB 85) in Monoceros

NGC 2282 is a reflection nebula in the constellation Monoceros. It was iscovered by Edward Emerson Barnard in 1886 using a 6-inch telescope. The nebula surrounds the open cluster OCl 535 by whose light it is illuminated. The same nebula was included under number 85 in the Sidney van den Bergh's Catalogue of reflection nebulae, published in 1966. Below is a highly magnified crop:
