This image shows the north-eastern part of Sh2-264, also known as the Lambda Orionis Nebula, or Lambda Orionis Ring - a huge molecular cloud and H II region, which can be seen in the northern region of the Orion Molecular Cloud Complex (OMCC), in the constellation of Orion. The image is almost centerd on Cederblad 51 ( Magakian 104, Bernes 89, or HK Ori) - a blue reflection nebula showing also emission spectrum (Cederblad 1946). Three Barnard’s dark nebulae can also be seen on the image (see mouseover).
