The comet C/2012 K5 (LINEAR) was discovered on May 28th 2012 by the LINEAR survey on CCD images taken with the 1.0-m f/2.15 reflector on May 25th. At the time of discovery the comet had a magnitude 18.5. This image was taken on December 30th 2012. An image tracked on the comet nuclei can be seen below:
