This extended HII region is situated some 3100 pc.away from us and is cataloguized in the RCW catalogue (Rodgers, Campbell, Whiteoak) as two separated objects: RCW 94 and RCW 95. RCW 94 is surrounded by an expanding HII shell and a giant molecular cloud. There is a massive infrared star cluster associated with RCW 95.
